efficiency

I love getting things done and ticking things off my to-do list. I like to think that 'efficiency' is my middle name.

However, The Royal Mail takes the word, efficient, to a whole new level.

Take, for instance:

1) I seem to know a massive number of babies born in 2008. So, suffice it to say, I send a lot of gifts via the post to celebrate my dear friends' new arrivals. I buy the require postage and drop it at the post office on Monday and receive a thank you phone call from Vancouver on Thursday.

2) When I was in Aberdeen, I wanted to send a postcard back home. I dropped a nautical pictured card in the postbox, hoping that it would make it to Derby before the 2-and-a-half day conference was over. I was in awe when I received a text the next morning, saying the postcard had arrived.

3) This Saturday, the postman dropped a parcel -- did I ever mention that I like getting packages in the mail? -- at 7:20 in the morning!!! I grumbled a loud as I tossed some presentable clothes on me as I ran down the stairs as the doorbell rang for the 7th time.

Efficient, wouldn't you say?
