This year, despite spending the months traditionally known as summer, spring seemed to meld into autumn. My officemates, however, kindly have advised me that this is how the British summer works. If you want to wear summer clothes, you just do so -- irregardless of what the weather is outside. I know that this is my second summer here but this philosophy has yet to click.
But, due to the ho-hum 'summer', I thought it was finally time that I move our sandals from the front hall closet to make way for my collection of boots.
That was two days ago.
Today, the sun is shining -- a beautiful Indian summer day.
Lesson learnt for next year: boots remain in the closet year round.
To-do tomorrow: after the half-marathon, bring the winter wool coats out of hibernation to encourage the nice weather to stay for a bit longer.
