It's hard to forget, with the country's intricate -- albeit very expensive -- rail system, that air travel is also a viable option for within country travel. When the opportunity was presented to attend a conference in Aberdeen, it was significantly cheaper, and faster, to fly to northern Scotland but the only drawbacks were catching the 6:45 am flight out of Birmingham and sitting on the small airplane, which enabled me to feel every bump in the air.
Because I was in Aberdeen for only 72 hours, I didn't get a chance to see much of the city but here are some photos nonetheless.
The conference was held at King's College, which is one of the oldest universities in the UK.
