On days when I need to catch the earlier train, it's hard to believe that I need to leave the house when it's that dark out. The 25-minute walk is much more pleasant when walking with the light of the day and the chirp of the birds, rather than worrying if the drivers actually see you because you're wearing a black, knee-length wool coat (Don't worry, Mom. I'm very careful!).
However, there's something to be said about watching the sun rise as you walk to the train station, or as you turn around to look out the window behind you when you work from the kitchen table on a work-from-home day. It feels as if the world is just waking up and welcoming a new birth with its shades of pink and orange.

It's hard being so far away from all the action in a place I still refer to as 'home'. And for a long while, I hoped that everything, and everyone, would stay the same as before we left Vancouver on that cold and crisp November day but, of course, life isn't like that with its hues of pink and orange, and in one specific case, a shade of blue :)
Congratulations, R&J!
