Neglecting the fact that I requested a visit to Hobbycraft, this weekend was completely non-sedentary and almost non-girlie, unlike last weekend.
You may know how I feel about climbing but on Saturday, we did some climbing at the closest indoor climbing gym. Since I haven't climbed in over a year, I did a test run of putting on my harness and practising the appropriate knots at home and, to our surprise, we didn't have to do a belay test.
The gym was small, catering to bouldering fanatics, and I was the only one in Lulu Lemon -- quite a contrast to the climbers in Vancouver on both accounts. At one point during one of my climbs, I was about 12 feet away from an on-going birthday party on the second landing and had a gaggle of kids who ill-wished me to fall. Nice.
With thanks to the extra hour gained on Sunday, I had some time to crank out some statistical models before setting forth for a walk in the Ladybower Reservoir area, which we were so kindly invited on. Although our drive to the Peak District was very wet, the sun came out on cue when we emerged from the car, one and a half hours later.
Of course, no countryside walk would be complete without a pub lunch afterwards.
