1st movement: bratislava

With our newly renewed, and hence unstamped, passports, we headed for The Continent last week. Although our primary destination was Vienna, we snatched some cheap tickets to Bratislava, an hour away from the Austrian capital by train, instead.

We didn't spend long in the Slovakian capital; probably 15-waking-hours, at most. We walked through the Old Town and up to the castle, which was closed to visitors during the off-season.

We strolled along the Danube River but the increased frequency of raindrops encouraged us to seek refuge at the restaurant at the top of the city's viewing tower. We had a coffee and enjoyed the views of the incoming squalls and the fast-moving Danube.

To be continued...
