Ever have one of those days that you wish you can start again?

I knew that it wasn't going to be a good day when I woke up to the sound of slanting sheets of rain before the alarm went off. The morning show host on the radio announced that today was the day, if you had a choice, to omit and to use tomorrow as the start of the work week. I really liked the prospect of a work-in-pajamas-day but unfortunately, I had purchased a train ticket and had two meetings to attend in Sheffield.

My pant legs and socks were sodden during the walk to the train station and the blistering wind wanted to whisk a goretex-clad me and my umbrella away in the style of a beloved British nanny. After watching my partner get on his platform for his train, I waited for nearly two hours before the nice people at the station finally announced that all trains north of Derby will be cancelled due to the extreme weather conditions.
