river derwent

It's another work-from-home day as all trains northbound from Derby are halted and the low-lying Sheffield train station is flooded. The amount of rain that fell yesterday was said to be equivalent to the volume of rain in an average month. Thankfully Derby didn't get hit hard but check out some of the damage in the other parts of the country.

I went for a run today and took some pictures of the River Derwent:

those pictures are amazing - looks like a disaster zone! perhaps i should rethink - if that's derby how bad is sheffield?
