train game
To make my train trips a bit more entertaining in the mornings, I have devised a game that I play with whomever I sit beside, however, unbeknownst to him/her. Everyone seems to read the free daily Metro paper available at the train station and everyone seems to work on the sudoku puzzle. So when my ‘opponent’ starts the sudoku, I quickly whip out my pen and attempt to finish the puzzle before he/she does. I do monitor the other person’s progress by occasionally glancing on how completed the grid is and, surprisingly, my progress is equally sized-up by similar glances. Today, I was having a bit of troubles with this particular puzzle and was feeling that I was lagging behind because of the mistakes I had made (incredibly frustrating as there’s no way to fix your errors without starting AGAIN) but I ended up as the victor. The opponent seemed to be a bit annoyed when I signified by successful win by loudly clicking my pen shut!
