I received a rose today from the people at Midland Mainline. After accepting the rose and grumbling to myself that I have to lug the long-stemmed rose to and from Sheffield, I wondered why doesn't the train company save their money on flowers (which they were distributing to the women) and chocolates (which they were distributing to the men) and lower their fares instead. That said, their rose is much appreciated - I mean, it might be the only one I receive today.
