Random thoughts

-£1.99 breakfasts at The Standing Order (so rewarding after a morning run!). Our third visit to this pub – we’re keen on their Curry Thursdays. We noticed a sign in front of the restaurant stating their closure for the upcoming week as they’re installing a refrigeration system for their beverages. Here’s to the end of room temperature beer – thank goodness :)
-A walk through the city centre and stopping at the shops that were open on Sundays. Did you know that free gifts are offered with magazines here? I didn’t. For example, a pack of gel pens or a rubber stamp with a purchase of craft magazine, a free gym bag with a purchase of a health and fitness magazine, and DVDs. Definitely fun to browse!
-I can’t believe that I have never read Pride and Prejudice – an excellent book and definitely worth re-reads. Highly recommended!
-Our first Scrabble game in over 6 months and after the first word of ‘surreal’ being played, I remembered why I never suggest playing it. But after coming back with ‘touched’ and three triple-scoring words, all I have to say is “take that, Mr. PhD!”
