oh, december

The nasty cold I'd developed is completely over. It lingered for a while and I unknowingly passed on the cold that everyone-seems-to-be-catching-this-season to my husband. We spent a couple of weekends, between us, swathed in fleecy blankets with a cup of hot lemon/honey water in hand and the remote control in the other. Needless to say, December has caught us off guard and, much to my surprise, it's already the middle of the month. December has a way of doing that -- it's so sneaky like that.

The City Centre of the cities I must often visit are dressed head-to-toe with twinkle lights and tinsel decorations. However, for some reason, this household is not smittened by the Christmas spirit. Don't get me wrong: cards were addressed and sent, mitts and socks were knitted, and even cookies were made. But, for some reason, at least for me, when there isn't the flurry of parties, visits with friends and families, and last minute shopping, it doesn't feel like Christmas.

We'll be spending Christmas in the vicinity of our home this year. And by vicinity, I mean an airplane will be involved. Of course, photos will follow when we come back. Until then, I wish each and everyone of you a Happy Christmas and may you be spending it with those you love, because I know that I'll be.
