The quest for good, cheap drip-coffee continues

I don't know which of the above words are funnier: good, cheap, or drip-coffee. I definitely know that coffee shops like on West Broadway just doesn't exist here in the UK. MD - I really miss our impromptu coffee breaks at Tim Hortons with only one sour cream timbit!

I've been checking out the coffee shops enroute to my office at school and checking out the prices. My mental calculator is telling me to only purchase it if is under 1 GBP (approx. $2 Cdn). Today I was able to find a cup for 60 pence - not too bad considering how expensive everything is! I've gotten to the point where my one mug of coffee in the morning before I leave for school just doesn't cut it!

Today, I'm going to share with you my walk from the train station in Sheffield to my office.

Here I wait for my train... (This was taken on a weekend as there aren't hoardes people waiting on the platform.)

Everything looks the same as home except the buildings are older and the city is not so snowy.

One of many pedestrian-only streets with shops. Marks and Spencer, an institution in the UK, is in the corner of the picture. I love going into their grocery store and looking at all the wierdly flavoured potato chips - ahem, I mean 'crisps'. To date, hat's off to lamb and mint flavoured crisps!

This is Regent Court, which is home to the School of Health and Related Research.

University of Sheffield consists of separate buildings scattered through the core of the city. Near Regent Court is the Engineering building and a little cathedral.

Two blocks away is New Spring House, my office.

And this is my desk -

It seems that no matter what country I'm in, I am the first one into the office! New Spring House is definitely trying to make me feel welcome in my new office - it's cold and loud construction is going on next door - just like the good old days at C2E2!
