oh wait, there's more

While we enjoyed seeing the Parisian sights and eating the Parisian delights, our trip fortuitously timed with the Trophée Eric Bompard Cachemire, one of the Grand Prix figure skating events.

You may know how much of a figure skating addict I am so we snatched tickets to watch the short programs of the mens, ladies, and pairs event. Surprisingly inexpensive at 11 Euros per person and for the whole evening. I'm sure that this was due it being held on a weekday; the tickets significantly rose for attendance to the weekend's long program competitions and finales.

It was my very first attendance at a international skating event. We sat a few rows behind the judges and nearly rubbed elbows with famous people in the stands. We watched two of Canada's 2010 hopefuls gained the lead after the short program and, although we didn't watch the long programs, retained their lead. Although I'm sure it isn't likely, but I like to think their success was due to our attendance.
