an ode

British railway system, how do I love thee?

Oh, let me count the ways:

You provide a means of transportation for me,
as I have yet to navigate behind the steering wheel,
the streets of England and its many traffic roundabouts.

You take me to school and back home again,
and the occasional trip to the big city on the weekend,
despite being late or cancelled due to construction or forces of Mother Nature.

You give a comfy seat for me to sit on,
unless the train is full with office workers and Uni kids alike,
and I have to stand in the aisle.

And when I thought I figured out how the cost of your fares worked,
you raise the price once again,
for the second time since we've relocated.

Oh, how do I love thee?
