Hello Friends,
It has been a while since I've blogged and thus, I'm a bit rusty; so here goes...

It's hard to fathom -- at least, for me -- but I left one home and 15 hours later, I arrived at another home. Home, as I wrote about weeks ago, elicits many concepts and luckily for me, I have many homes.
I experienced a wealth of feelings while I was away; it was almost, in my mind, a lifetime of emotions. How often can you say, amongst other events, that you welcomed a birth; commemorated a death; celebrated your birthday 5 months early with a cake made out of sand at a playground; got sick in a parking lot; and received notification of your first scientific publication all in a span of nearly 4 weeks?
Despite the whirlwind of activities I experienced, it's good to be back -- back at home, especially when greeted by your husband with a bouquet of flowers at the train station.

It's surprising to realize how 'British' I've become since my relocation 14 months ago. I've snuck in 'straight away's' in many conversations with friends; surpressed an unexpected craving for Walker's salt and vinegar baked crisps; did not feel out-of-placed when having drinks one evening with 5 British expats -- who I refer to as 'me' but in reverse -- now living in Vancouver.
