Remember, remember the fifth of November,
The gunpowder, treason and plot,
I know of no reason
Why gunpowder treason
Should ever be forgot.
As the rhyme indicates, today is Guy Fawkes day. And since the weekend, our street, has with many others in the country, is similar to a war zone with loud crackling from the firecrackers and with an eery glow from the fireworks.
