With an influx of sweets at home -- and waistlines to think about -- I took in a tray of goodies to share with my officemates. I mentioned that it was a Canadian holiday this past weekend and I chuckled to myself when everyone wished me a "Happy Independence Day". Everyone ooh'ed-and-aah'ed, and even fought over, the pieces of cake and I was very pleased, as my quest for being the best baker in two continents is starting to take shape.
