sunday walk

Sunday called for sun, clouds, and rain.

The possibility of rain used to turn us away from the North Shore mountains, mostly due to the lack of benefit for the gain (all that work for no panoramic views), but living in the UK has definitely taught us that if you lived your life based on the weather - you may end up never leaving your house.

We headed north -- without stopping for the famous Ashbourne gingerbread -- to Ilam. A pleasant walk started off with views of a meandering river and interesting rock formations.




The walking paths in the Peak District always lead from one sleepy hamlet to another hamlet.



The weather changed for the worst and we quickly had to retrieve our jackets wisely tucked away.


Luckily, the rain stopped and we had views of the area:


And although the rain started to pick up again as we approached the car, a flock of sheep only slightly prevented us from getting to dry safety as we approached the final stile:
