monopoly

You may not be surprised to learn that I love board games. I like being Miss Scarlett in Clue, I like playing tightly in Scrabble, and I like showing off my single-letter knowledge in Scattergories.

Monopoly, however, is one of those love-it-or-hate-it type of game. For me, I think it falls in the 'hate it' category.

When I was young, my sister and I would play Monopoly but a winner was never declared in the many times we played together. The game either took to long to complete or one of us would be a sore loser and give up (Hi Sis! I love you, too!).

The New and Now UK edition of the said board game recently had a poll where individuals voted for the most popular place in the UK. The top 22 cities would replace the likes of St. Charles Place and Marvin Gardens. Today's annoucement of the 'winning' cities included Derby at #14, one spot ahead of London -- go figure!
