Yesterday, we celebrated a pseudo birthday with a spinach lasgana and a devil's food cake with chocolate sour cream icing (definitely not as fun as the dessert buffet I organised last year but just as enjoyable).
Am I the only who didn't know that creme fraiche = sour cream here? I spent a good 20 minutes in the Sainbury's dairy aisle reading the description of every item to find 'sour cream'.
Of course, I couldn't eat much of the dinner I prepared, as I 'cleaned up' the left-over icing on the spatula and beaters while preparing dinner.
Isn't that the best part of icing a cake?
I purchased some 're-lighting' candles thinking that they were just regular candles but we had a good time eventually extinguishing these joke candles...
