If you thought southern France was warm all year round...

try visiting in December! It's COLD. Tres froid!

With a Radley wallet last Friday and an early departure from the East Midlands Airport the next morning (6:40 am to be exact!), Christmas came early this year! Actually this is the first time, in a long time, that we've travelled without a tent or hiking boots - so it was a treat to travel like normal people! When we got to the airport, our flight to Nimes was delayed 1.5 hours but we were still in good spirits as the flight wasn't cancelled due to the fog.

We stayed warm visiting little cafes but since we were visiting the city during Christmas many of the shops were closed for the holidays. Nimes is known for their Roman architecture so we spent Christmas Day visiting these sites. We took the train to Carcassonne, a medieval walled city, another day. On our final day in France, we visited Pont du Gard, an ancient aqueduct. Pictures will follow soon...

Now we're back to a warm and balmy 11 degrees C in the UK - who would have thought?
