Free NICE tickets

As PhD students at ScHARR, we were given the opportunity to go to the NICE Conference for free. Since this organisation is relevant to my PhD work, I thought I should take up this opportunity and also see a bit of Birmingham in the process.

One of the seminars I attended made us to do the dreaded group exercise. We had to introduce ourselves and propose mechanisms to enforce the NICE guidelines to clinicians and biotech companies. I introduced myself and said I'm from Canada and recently re-located to do my PhD at Sheffield. So I was asked how am I liking Sheffield and my immediate response was "well, it's no Vancouver". Then one replied, "you're from Vancouver - it's a beautiful city". I know...

Anyhow, I know how you like it when I upload photos on the blog. These are just some photos from my walk back to the train station. I reckon we'll make another trip to Birmingham in the future.

Such beautiful photos. Perhaps Vancouver is no Sheffield, or no Brimingham...
